Fifteen years after Bill and Peggy Stephenson were murdered, investigators have new DNA evidence to work with.

A lab developed a DNA profile from a second location at the crime scene — and it matches the profile investigators already have in CODIS, meaning both samples came from the same person. Now, investigators believe they may be able to do even more with that profile as forensic science continues to advance.

This case isn't sitting on a shelf. Investigators are still working to find the person — or people — responsible.
